Something tells me that I do not get along well with people who don't understand words like 'mesmerise' and ask for definitions and demand I give them 'simpler' synonyms as they do not understand what 'to captivate' or 'to spellbind' means. Perhaps it wouldn't be the same if they were less rude about it. It's not as though I was negating truth or meaning. Pfft, there are things called dictionaries available for verbal abuse.
